Healthy sleep is necessary for good health, and sleep is an important factor in cardiovascular health, obesity, diabetes, and psychological well-being.
The Sleep Health Research Program at the University of Arizona is focused on better understanding all the ways that sleep is tied into health, how social, environmental, and situational factors play a role in sleep, and how to develop and deploy real-world solutions to sleep problems faced by people from many walks of life.
This research involves everything from basic physiologic studies, to observational cohort studies, to clinical trials, to community-focused research, all the way to population-level studies. We use cutting-edge techniques and address real-world problems in our pursuit of knowledge about sleep and health.
